Why was Hollywood so obsessed with sky beams? I mean they cared more about making sky beams evil than making sure we knew how evil their producers were.

What does this have to do with the Onion/parody sites? Isn’t that a legit list?

The Hard Drive is a satire website, and the writing here is very humorous.
Half of the selections are quite awful and the justifications are quite... flimsy. The concept here is also a bit satirical
