This is a place to motivate each other to control or stop drinking. It is also a place for non drinkers to discuss and share.

Please post only when sober; you’re welcome to read in the meanwhile.

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Day 18! (Day 17) Made it through a rather rough evening of just wanting to fold up and get hammered last night. Slept so damn good, though. Today's a good day to fish and a good day to not drink with ya!

Edit: Alcohol is a hell of a drug.. Got to counting this morning and had to roll back through this thread... I somehow entirely skipped my 'Day 9'.. Went from 'Day 8' right on into 'Day 10'.. (some of those sleepless and near-sleepless nights are a tadpole froggy, though) I suppose it'd be stranger even still had I quit sloggin booze and Also accurately tracked the days since.. There's nothing I'm not really adept at fuckin-up! Still not boozin with y'all today, though!

Good to hear! Frantic weeks (for me anyways) keep the body and the brain occupied. I kind of welcome the change of pace, if not the chaos.
