Joshua Hale Fialkov has previously written episodes for Young Justice, Ultimate Spider-Man and was head writer on the 2008 show LG15: The Resistance.

Michael Goi directed the first and this episode of Netflix' Avatar. He is known for his work as director of photography for American Horror Story and has directed episodes of Sabrina and Riverdale.

I just viewed this episode. Now, I’ve never seen the original cartoon so I have no idea how close it follows the original story, but is Aang supposed to be such a whiny little bitch? God, he was so annoying with his refusal to learn to use his powers.

Yeah he's a whiny bitch... But it was a kid show so I think that helped it be more reliable, and helps his growth as the show progresses.
