This is a general community for 40k miniatures, art, lore discussion, and gameplay discussion.

Rules

  1. Keep it civil.
  2. No memeposts/shitposts. Memes are great but direct them to grimdank.
  3. Please mark any posts containing realistic nudity or realistic excessive gore/violence as NSFW; this rule mainly applies to cosplay and realistic drawings rather than miniatures. Being that 40k is inherently violent, this is a judgement call, and mods may occasionally request posters add tags.
  4. No political or social cause agenda pushing.

Is it just me or do these feel kinda...meh?

The Ultimate Version is basically just the Space Marine and Tyranid Combat Patrol Box in one Box

And I don't now abput the Infernus Marines in a Starter Box... yeah, they seem to be decent, but for someone that wants to start out with 40k, would they really be the best/first choice for Space Marines? (unless you want to do Salamanders)

Also there is the Problem with the Ripper swarm again. Two sets of Termagaunts would make a full size Unit, but then you only have 2 Ripper Swarms, you need 3 for a legal full strenght unit of them

Given these are basically just updates to the existing starter sets using sprues out of the Leviathan box instead of the Indomitus one, I'm not surprised they're a bit wonky. It is interesting to see which characters are being put in the box though, since those generally stayed in the starter sets and didn't get separate releases unless they were different sculpts, or just haven't had separate releases at all like the Necron Royal Warden. If the same holds the very oddball Winged Tyranid Prime might be staying in the starter boxes, which is probably for the best honestly.
