I always have issues if I switch anything. I view it like someone saying whisky is all the same thing. No. Some is cheap shit that will make you feel sick, some is good enough to down, and some is good enough to sip. All are technically whisky.
I don't do extended release but I like generic made by Northstar. It is consistent. With my disability I hate feeling dulled by pain meds and Adderall functions more like a way to focus around the pain, although I have been on it for far longer than I have been disabled My pharmacy is super cool about making sure I always have my supply set aside and stay consistent, but they can see my rather extreme medical history and needs. Developing a relationship with a pharmacy is the best thing I have experienced but your results may vary.
