I'm confused by Lemmy but also excited to try and help it grow.
Me too. It feels like early reddit stages trying to figure out what subreddits and whatnot are as a newcomer. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. The jerboa app has been cool too!
Is that an app to log in to Lemmy instead of using a browser?
Jerboa supposedly. I haven’t tried it yet though.
i'm using it. it's... ok. not very many features (no way to sort comments, community search doesn't seem to work for me at all, links to communities open with a browser and not within the app, and while pictures show up in posts if you want to save or zoom you open in a browser) but it mostly gets the basic job done.
i need to pin the website to my home screen so i can use that for a comparison; i don't know what i'm missing. mastodon apps are in a similar situation of being a bit behind what the web version is capable of so i imagine that's probably the best way to use lemmy for a while, too.
edit: update. tried the 'install' thing on firefox and it's garbage. now i see what some posts complaining about auto updating with new posts mean and it makes me log in again every time i open it. sticking with jerboa for now. really hoping boost and/or joey reddit app devs make a version for lemmy soon.
