About
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis aspires to be the same kind of Autocrat despised by the founders of the United States. He must be exposed for what he is: a great threat to our Democratic Republic and American values. Republicans don't punish big businesses like the Walt Disney Company for disagreeing with them. Fascists do. DeSantis and those like him are a massive threat to our Democracy.

Pfft I wish, core classes (aka General Education classes) are classes you need to pick at every level
So the college says you need a level 100 history class (or 2 or 3) and then give you a list of eligible classes to choose from that probably have nothing to do with your chosen discipline.
Colleges and educators always claim "it's to provide a well rounded education", but frankly I consider that a bunch of BS and it's more of a means to get more profit for the school.
General education is for primary school, ore focused in secondary and then it is specific in College. It seems very odd to me to get a degree and have credits be unrelated to the discipline.
Not here in the US, College continues these GenEd courses for like the entirety of the 1st year and the first half of the second (sometimes entire second). When I was in college I couldn't even take ANY of my discipline related classes until I knocked out enough GenEd courses, which worked out to about 1.5 years of college before I got to take my actual discipline classes.
Like I said, it smells like a pure profit motive to me in the US to have these mandatory GenEd courses, sounds like you're from a country with free higher education yea? That's probably why it sounds so weird to you, free higher education no profit motive and then just like that "General education" classes aren't so important after all lolol
It's not free but it isn't criminally expensive like the US though for some it is cost prohibitive.
