Like ringing in the ears or a constant inner monologue, some people have them, but it's often a surprise that other people don't
to be fair, if you have ringing in the ears, it's called Tinnitus and most people don't have it or expect everyone to have it.
Wait are you sure? I thought everyone develops tinnitus over time. Like I get that not everyone will have a constant ringing but at least most people will occasionally just be sitting there doing whatever and then it dings is for a couple minutes and goes away, right? I don't think anyone I've personally asked about it has ever claimed to never have experienced that ringing
The short tinnitus that lasts just a few minutes is relatively common. Most common cause is stress and circulation issues. There seems to be no alternative name for the short tinnitus to differentiate between the permanent ringing.
I found that if it starts ringing in my ear due to stress or just spacing out during overthinking stuff, hyperventilating (increase blood oxygen levels) briefly and massaging my ear canal (increase circulation) from the outside helps to get rid of it more quickly. Maybe this helps somebody someday.
I'm pretty sure that ringing for a couple minutes isn't the same thing as tinnitus, I think tinnitus is relatively constant/permanent
I have tinnitus and if someone says 5 minutes of ringing is tinnitus, I will knife them good. Fuck you Jonny for lighting and IED 8 feet off from my left ear without warning!!!
This is the first time I hear someone say that tinnitus develops spontaneously. Tinnitus is caused by hearing damage.
TIL, thanks
