Coming from someone living in the only country having invoked article 5 in history because a few whackos from some country in Asia most can't point out on a map crashed a few planes into buildings.
The UK really hasn't been all that bad, and they're currently over the target.
The UK -- along with the US -- was also one of the first countries to provide substantial aid. Back when it was mostly man-portable weapons going over, the UK provided a bunch of NLAWs, which were pretty much what Ukraine needed at the time.
While I share your frustration with where some countries were -- Scholz, in Germany, explicitly campaigned on ignoring the NATO target -- Cameron isn't really the main guy I'd complain at. And those countries are also improving (admittedly, now that Putin is actually prosecuting a war, but...)
This is also a pretty self-effacing comment from Cameron, because he's presenting what the UK did in the runup to WW2 as what not to do.
Western Europe is facing the prospect of having to pay for their own defense for the first time in 80 years and it terrifies them.
I'm sure Hitler would agree with you.
I'm at a loss for words for what this is even supposed to mean
WW1 & WW2 were "their wars" at first too. How many times do you need to learn that lesson? The US isn't Switzerland.
And all the US is really achiving is the EU is building its own supply lines and US weapons industry will suffer for decades.
Noooo not le hecking military industrial complex my opinion is changed completely completely now that I know Lockheed Martin will suffer
Also this isn't the 20th century bozo. Europe is for the birds and there's nothing there worth wasting so much money protecting

Remember guys, next time Europe asks us to subsidize their defense with billions of USD, this is exactly how they feel about us.
You're going to vote Trump for president, again.
That's fucked up.
