The largest issue with the Cybertruck is that its stainless steel body doesn’t have a clear coat, so there’s nothing to protect the body from dents, dings, scratches, and corrosive substances from immediately coming into contact with the body. If things like rain, car washes, bugs, and pine tar need to be cleaned off immediately and regularly, road salt, rocks, and debris from off-roading will surely wreak havoc on the truck’s body.

It hasn't been more than a few months for these units and the speckles of Rust are already beginning to form. I'm guessing from road salt + moisture + winter in general. But who knew that steel could possibly rust?
So what's happening behind the panels where you can't wash it daily?

I think that making a truck out of stainless steel, and buying a truck made out of stainless steel, are both idiotic decisions.
Delorian learned about the drawbacks of stainless cars back in the 80s. The rusting of bare stainless not withstanding, the stainless also causes the regular mild steel in other parts of the vehicle to act as a galvanic anode. This means that the hidden mild steel of the frame rusts twice as fast as the stainless body due to having a higher voltage potential. The death of many a Delorian came from its mild steel wishbone frame rusting away underneath the body.
