It could be worse. In Czech, it could probably be called kohoutek - little cock/rooster (originally the term describes the round thing you turn to open the valve, but it is sometimes used for the whole water tap assembly).
I think that is an old word for it in English, but not used much anymore afaik
Similar in Danish.
