I've seen a video of the bezel action before and was wondering how the 2 o'clock crown operates. Does it snap in and out to engage the bezel?

No, it doesn’t snap in/out. The ring-button is on a spring, so it pops back out on its own. The middle post is one of the chrono pushers.
