Anyone else find these numbers hard to believe? They seem as high as the beginning of the war, but map control lines seem unphased, and the amount of footage coming out seems to have gone down. Am I mistaken?
Russians are attempting to take Avdiivka like they took Bakhmut, that is sending meat wave after meatwave to exhaust Ukraine. But Avdiivka is even better defended. So the Russian losses are even higher at Avdiivka than they were with Bakhmut. This has been going on for 4 months.
Despite the strong defense of Avdiivka, Russia is making slow progress. Maybe because Ukraine is getting short on ammo.
I and others here have on occasion tried to make estimates of the reliability of these numbers, and they absolutely seem plausible.
Note that AFAIK the number for lost personnel doesn't mean they for sure are dead, but that they mean dead or heavily wounded.
I divide the numbers in half, and it's still staggering.
