Isn't the issue that in the gulf these drones are being targeted by missiles that are more like $1M each? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flakpanzer_Gepard are not mounted on ships afaik although I expect there are similar solutions. Update: it seems electronic warfare (lasers, microwave, GPS suppression) are favoured as they don't run out of ammo. Against a drone swarm attack mixed with anti ship missiles the ballistics are reserved for taking out the ship killers.
