"the holocaust" as a name is meant to only apply to the one we all think about. Its name was chosen for that reason.

This is not a defence of Israel at all, but what the Nazis did was, unfortunately but truly, much worse which is why it deserves that name.

There's nothing to prevent anyone coining an equally descriptive epithet for what Israel are doing.
