So if I'm actively beating the snot out one of these idiots and they scream, "I DO NOT CONSENT! I DO NOT CONSENT!", what then?

I'm sure none of them has signed a contract with the police for protection, so...

Two key things about actually having sovereignty

recognized (hahaha)
defendable, either through law or military force. They don't hold a military, and are apparently their own laws.
