I really like the arc Ba'al makes. Like he's evil and wants to rule the universe, but on the other hand he's not above helping out the Tau'ri when it comes to saving the universe. Can't rule the universe if there ain't a universe to rule, very practical. And the whole cloning thing was hilarious and totally something a Goa'uld would do.

Cliff Simon was also a great actor, RIP.

He knew he was a parasite, putting on the masquerade of a god.

He wasnt high on his own supply and self deluded into thinking he was an actual god.

He also had a smarmy charisma, and the ability to easily slip in and out of character, to work with others when it served his interest, that just made him endearing as fuck to the viewers.

Think Apophis would have helped with the Dakara weapon? Hell no. He'd sit there, huff his own farts, and proclaim he has no need for Tau'ri trickery because hes a god.
