Let's be real, kids don't care about/understand what the API changes are and are on the TikTok

But that isn't realistic? There's a minority of techy kids who understand and care about the API changes

Those kids would be fine here. It's the "dumb" people that probably sit thru 5 minutes of Youtube ads or Twitch ads. It blows me away how many people put up with that stuff, and think it's normal.

I don't really think its even kids. I think its 'adults' that have only joined the internet since Facebook dragged them online via their phones in the mid 2010s.. The techy people are normally pretty chill. Old Reddit was full of nerds, and it was pretty nice

Im blaming cell phones for ruining the internet. It sure as fuck has hurt the gaming community

Yeah agreed, I don't think it was an age thing either. I wonder sometimes if it was mostly autistic people on the internet in the 90s and early 00s while NTs didn't have the patience for it other than maybe for games, research, and cybersex.

Then phones made it accessible during short idle times and more and more people started participating and things devolved from there. And then the pandemic set the stage for it to get to addiction levels for more people, though it was getting bad before that.

And I wonder when the Russians started stirring shit online. That couldn't have helped things.

Yeah, it isn't realistic. Nerd kids are already here. This is a nerd space. Will the spammy kids come? That is the question.
