Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! βοΈ
An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! π΅π
Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Hello July! Thank god it's Sabado!
Todayβs Ask PHlemmy: What is your favorite non alcohol drinks?
Apir, hydrohomie. You know what? Fuck it. Wala na tayo sa teddit. Balik na tayo sa OG term: Bring it in, mah waternigga.
Thanks
Root beer. I don't even know why I like it.
Because it doesn't taste like the typical soda, but in a good way?
I suppose that's one reason.
That reminded me of the time I was in the IKEA restaurant. I had a field day trying out different soda options not readily available here.
Yung A&W rootbeer float π sana bumalik sila dito.
Hindi pa ako nakakatikim nyan! π Naririnig-rinig ko lang siya dati, pero di ko alam kung saan.
Afaik wala na sila dito sa Pinas. Yung sa megamall huli kong napuntahan mid or late 2000s pa.
Mas masarap kasi yung float vanilla ice cream tapos little to no ice yung rootbeer. Kapag nilagay na yung scoop ng ice cream hahalo sa fizz tapos aapaw. Hay memories...
Ay, sobrang late ko na nga. I used to hear of an earlier incarnation of the A&W restaurant tho, sa may Vito Cruz ata? Tapos advertised sa Eat Bulaga nung 90's. Etong nauna, ang nakikita ko (na naka-advertise), hamburgers. Tipong mas malaking version ng Whopper ng BK--that's my impression anyways.
Either incarnation di ko na rin naabutan, lol!
Coffee used to be my obsession.
Cheap iced coffee original by McDonald's every day, once in the morning and another just after lunch to fight off sleepiness. Super fan din ako ng Sumiyaki ng UCC which is my go-to if feel ko something a bit different from McDo. If I'm in the mountain province area, I'd buy civet coffee because it's cheaper there (150 a cup as opposed to 900 if you buy it here). Also have a Nespresso machine and I try all kinds of flavors - pag di ko nagustuhan yung nabili ko na pack, I trade it to my sister for other capsules.
Now I can't because of GERD π₯Ή Hanggang Gatorade na lang ako ngayon, lol.
Coffee has been so ordinary and routine to my daily life now that I basically forgot about it.
Pagkagising, mag-gigiling ng kape, sabay isasalang sa coffee maker or french press. I also had a phase when I tried looking around for different local coffee varieties to test out. I ended up just sticking with Barako (since it's the variety nearest to where I live).
I mostly drink it tempered with milk and sugar (yes, it is heresy, Iβ know).
Dr. Pepper!
7up is good but isn't available in a lot of sari sari stores.

Vitamilk!, tried all flavors so far my favorite is yung medyo grayish white yung laman lasa siyang tirang milk after mo kumain ng koko crunch
EDIT: changed vitasoy to vitamilk
Oy! Favorite ko rin yan. My husband thinks I am weird for loving the stuff. Yung double choco kasi paborito nya.
I find that variant π€’ kasi yung thickness nung double choco kasing tulad nung sa chuckie pero yung lasa medyo maasim na matabang
Same! Sobrang tamis din para sakin.
Tried their sweet corn variant, and I liked it. It's one of my go-to drinks pag mejo mahaba ang byahe or maraming kailangang asikasuhin sa labas ng bahay.
Buko juice siguro...
Water for life!
