~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

How does this AI thing work? Cuz I would absolutely abuse it to create a tenforward metal opera band
I have a ChatGPT subscription and have access to DALL*E 3, which is integrated into ChatGPT 4, which I used to generate these images. I'm no expert, I just try to describe the image to generate as best as I can. It can get tricky sometimes if you try to generate copyrighted material; like, it can return a pretty decent-looking ship that looks close to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A, but it won't do it if you ask for Discovery.
DALL*E 2 (the previous version) is available for free at https://openai.com/dall-e-2. It's not as good, though. I fed it one of the prompts I used in v3 and it returned stuff like this: https://i.postimg.cc/V61KR6vK/DALL-E-2024-01-10-21-03-29-klingon-opera.png. That's all I got, sorry. Hope this was helpful.
I looked into music generation AI. Couldn't find anything that didn't require money. Which is fine, I'm all for people getting paid.
I just wanted to generate some tracks and mix them myself into something silly. No clue what the status of AI vocals is though, and a klingon opera metal singer is key.
aw shet, I thought you were talking about generating a pic of a fictional Klingon metal opera band. You're thinking of actual audio! I dunno, I've heard AI-generated music has gotten better as of late, but I really don't know what's possible or even where one would start. Yeah, some real tracks we could listen to would be badass!
Oh yeah I want to go all out for 2:30 of ridiculousness and post it here.
