What's even more of a mind-fuck is that on cosmological scales all that has happened in such a briefly miniscule time period that it might as well have not happened at all

If there's ever another intelligent civilization on this planet after we cook ourselves to death, all they will see of our era is a super-thin stratum of rust and microplastics.
