I grew up going to church but I'm not religious now and I never really understood this part.

Please, no answers along the lines of "aha, that's why Christianity is a sham" or "religions aren't logical". I don't want to debate whether it's right or wrong, I just want to understand the logic and reasoning that Christians use to explain this.

bible is pretty monolith since it was merged together idk about that. new_testament update hit pretty clear on this

Except it isn't. Not even priests of the same branch agree on how to interpret it, let alone the many balievers that haven't even bothered to read the thing.

yes i agree, just wanted to make sure that we are talking about the god of the bible. Also priests cant give you salvation. gotta read and interpret it yourself.
