When I was on Reddit I felt like my opinion didn’t matter. But here it just feels more open and free.

Undoubtedly! I was always more of a lurker, but I think I've posted as many comments here in the last couple of weeks as I did in 11 years of Reddit... Lemmy is, somehow, much more inviting.

It's a little easier to comment when you know you won't be piled on by a bunch of pedantic redditors looking for every single way to misconstrue your comments and strawman anything you say to attack you to prove how "correct" they are about something that is their own opinion or the arbitrary point of view of the day. You get banned if you do that shit here lmao.
