This is why the paid exclusivity deals from Sony seem really anti-consumer, even if they are only temporary exclusivity (most sales happen at launch).
If you already have the most market share, and by quite a large margin (the Switch is bit of a different market), then it's a lot easier for you to buy exclusivity deals because a developer will be losing a lot less sales by being exclusive to PlayStation than by being exclusive to Xbox.
Of course, these exclusivity deals then further grow PlayStation's higher market share in a positive feedback loop and this ultimately leads to less competition and worse outcomes for consumers.
