How is Arsenal able to spend so much each summer?

We're still a massive club globally, plus PL money and now CL money. Plus we're no longer hamstringed by Ashburton Grove like we were during the Wenger years.

You mean the this transfer window and the previous? It's part of a squad overhaul.

Doesn't really answer my question. We don't see any other non-oil funded clubs spending this amount. Arsenal isn't great at selling. Man Utd is heavily limited due to previous window - shouldn't Arsenal be as well?

OK so this isn't easy to answer.

First off, we haven't spent that much up until these past few years, and even then it's not like we are outspending everyone around us by a huge margin. In fact Newcastle, Nottingham, West Ham, and Man U all had higher net spends in 22/23 and we only spent 25m more than Tottenham.

Second, up until recently our wage bill was low compared to other top 6 teams and we are now 4 just behind Liverpool. This gave us a little more freedom to spend on fees and we weren't paying high wages.

Third, we have that sweet CL money. This extra income will allow us to spend a little more freely then we have in the past.

Lastly. United have spent close to 1b in transfers over the last decade and the owners are siphoning money out of club, whereas our owners are injecting money back into the club. As far as I'm aware all of the other teams owned by the Kroenke's have won championships lately and we are the only one who hasn't. It's in their best interest to ensure their investment continues its on field success so that the value of the team can continue to grow as well.
