On the other hand, simulation theory is a logical theory to rationalize the “purpose” of why we exist.

That’s fucking stupid.

It doesn’t explain the “purpose” of why the non-simulated world exists and as we would be an offspring of such a world, it would also not explain the “purpose” for us either.

Someone, somewhere in a chain of simulations would have to be the real universe with its questions.

That assumes we have knowledge of how things work outside the simulation. Which we don't and wouldn't.

If we assume we're in a simulation, we can thus infer that there must be a real world to house our simulation at some point.

We don't need to know about it or how it works, to know if it is there. Therefore that the same questions some may brush away with the answer of 'simulation' is relevant again in this real world.

Yes, it does. If we’re a simulation, then the “purpose” is to gain knowledge and data by observation.

No one said anything about the “non-simulated world”. That would be outside of our scope and abilities to understand.

So no… it’s not “fucking stupid” but you might be.
