Might not be a game worth playing, even for free, based on the various scummy actions Bungie has done to it over time (what I heard was grind-heavy events, content that people paid for deleted, the vanilla game and plot experience for newcomers making no sense). However, if it was ever on your radar of interest, now would be a decent time to get it.

It comes with 3 campaigns in the bundle: The Witch Queen, Beyond Light, Shadowkeep.

When I first played through the original campaign, it was fine, it was fun, not amazing. For 0 dollars I'll play the expansions and completely ignore the multi-player aspect. The events are repetitive and stupid, battlepasses are for children and idiots, just chew through the campaigns and move on, it's not an awful game if you ignore all the grindy bullshit, which I assume you still can. The equipment system kinda sucks and you basically just keep picking up slightly better versions of the same guns all the time, but whatever.

I'd say it's fun for free and if you run it largely single-player, and a one-armed bandit if you try to compete online. In that case it'll be tedious and expensive and just feeding an addiction, but if that stuff pisses you off like it does me, you don't even get into it, because it really feels like they're just reaching into your wallet without providing anything but frustration.

I agree with you. I claimed the game but I'd really only pick it up if I needed something to spend my time with and could ignore the monetization aspect of it.
