"If Putin wins in Ukraine, there is real risk that his aggression will not end there. Our support is not charity. It is an investment in our security," - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"The only way to reach a just and lasting solution is to convince President Putin that they will not win on the battlefield," @jensstoltenberg continued.

"And the only way to ensure that President Putin realises that he is not winning on the battlefield is to continue to support Ukraine."

Hi. I studied political ideology in college. The GOP qualifies as Fascist. They have a cult of personality; autocratic ideals; a chosen enemy; hierarchical wealth, race, and gender beliefs; and strong beliefs in subordinating oneself for the collective good that routinely turns out to be just whatever is good for the guys on top.

The people ringing the alarms now aren't the kind of person to put the F word on a protest sign because the town council decided to ban a couple books.

Edit to add- They've literally openly talked about subverting our Democracy to stay in power. They tried to have a palace coup on January 6th. They've given themselves the power to take over certifying votes in districts designated by a state legislature or committee. They even tried to ask SCOTUS to rule that the state legislature was the only legitimate power in elections. Cutting out the entire election system and state supreme courts.

They aren't going to stop because you put your head in the sand.

Uh...I never argued against the GOP being fascist, in fact, as a Germany with our history being taught quite well in school (well, at least when I was in school...), I've been arguing that the GOP is fascist for years. However, lately "fascist" is thrown around quite fast and loosely. The argument CosmicTurtle made in that context was one of those, IMHO, because it wasn't an argument about those suckers being openly fascist.

But I may have just misunderstood.
