I noticed yesterday, but never got around to posting it, but the short time it has taken to go from 300k to 340 k losses for Russia is less than 1Β½ month which is insane!
https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2023/10/31/7426472/
On Oktober 31 Russia passed 300k and yesterday only 43 days later they already added 40k to that.
That's averaging 937 per day for almost 1Β½ month, compared to 488 for the 616 days before that.
So Russia is accepting doubling their casualties in their attempt to take Avdiivka!
PS:
Putin just held his reelection speech, we will see if things calm down after that.
I suspect Russia may keep on, for Putin to have a victory for the election.
It's already decreasing since yesterday, back to 800/day. Maybe it's Putin discourse, but they seem to be using different tactics now, with more drones and smaller units. So it may only be adaptation.
Yes we will see if they are slowing down for the winter, 800 is still high.
But imagine the strategic ineptitude, if Russia honestly thought they had a chance of taking Avdiivka so he could use it in his reelection speech!
