Some of Reddit’s most popular communities have posted open letters to the company with a series of requests regarding many key issues at the heart of the recent protests on the platform. They want a response by June 29th.

The way they started replacing mods was the final nail in the coffin. That’s just a huge middle finger to all the users and mods alike.

Reddit don’t seem to realize that content curation is where the real value of the platform is. If mods weed out all the spam and crazy nonsense, the users will come and further curate by voting. If the mods have their hands tied behind their back due to API changes, the whole tower will fall. Just two more days until the downhill gets really steep. We are way beyond the point of no return as it is, so get your popcorn ready and enjoy the fireworks.
