That CPU usage is real. Been using adblock for a long time privately. Got a new work computer without adblock and goddamn the fan goes crazy just browsing simple sites with text (likely the movement in ads, if not all the trackers and JavaScript that is being loaded in the background). I also feel like getting dumber just seeing the damn things, they sure know how to attract attention and I feel duped each time my eyes are drawn to one.
