Same for me, and I can't fathom why anyone would downvote you for that comment
People are so weird.
Hmm you both have me worried now, I have so many other apps installed and was planning to test them out for when Liftoff inevitably dies during the 0.19 switchover. But if it's happening early, nooooooo I am not prepared π±
I'm ootl on this one, what's the switch over? Any favorite alternative?
The Lemmy devs put out a list of "breaking changes" coming with the next big core update, and advised app devs to be ready for them. Since as far as I know we've not heard much from the Liftoff developer since his twins arrived (which, clearly, understandable!) a lot of people assume this means it's not being actively worked on and will probably break when 0.19 hits. Could be wrong, of course!
Tbh I'm not sure on alternatives. None of the others have the same easy coziness to me. But I might have more of a play around with Summit and see if I can get that looking a bit less brash, because the multicommunity feature is great.
Oh no say it ain't so. Liftoff is the best client I've used.
We can but hope!
When the first betas of 0.19 went out about two months ago, I contacted the Devs(plural) on Matrix.
Letβs just say Liftoff! Does not work when you are logged in to an instance that upgrades to 0.19 and cannot log in on 0.19. Thereβs no sign of any commits since August.
Just to add that the following are compatible with 0.19
Voyager - the daddy of Lemmy clients Sync (as of today) Avelon Mlem (RC in beta has full support, production works )
Iβm sure there are others
Ah that's balls, but thanks for the update. Looks like Summit is ready too, I noticed it has scaled sort already if you're on a 0.19 instance.
Mlem is now in the App Store with full 0.19RC support. Looks fantastic.
