I just installed the app and I love the direction! I hope to be able to contribute soon but I am just starting off with flutter. Keep up the good work!

For most users most of the time no. Some people like to have different accounts with different interests or personas, and I've seen signs that organisations are experimenting with spinning up Lemmy instances for internal purposes, and I suspect admins and mods may well end up partnering up across instances.
