It’s kind of weird how picking up weapons on the map is a thing that kind of died out with arena shooters. I guess you probably didn’t grow up with those kinds of games?

Nope, way too young for that. The most boomery shooter I ever played before that is probably Tribes Ascend.

Makes sense! I think it’s kind of what you’re used to, you know? I remember disliking games where you had to pick your load out ahead of time when that started to be more common because it felt limiting to me, and also removed an element of map control. I like them just the same now, but it took a while to get used to it!
