I'm not from Melbourne, but it's great to see Melbourne people using their Fedi alternative to Reddit. The Brisbane one is dead!
@Kwikxilver @StudChud I'm glad too (as a mildly active occasional ex-Redditor, but a very active Fedi user). But sorry Briswegians aren't doing the necessary work to try Fedi - because it IS work to do so and needs a critical mass of users to stand their ground, and notify people of a genuine move. I'm likely to be more active in here than I ever was on Reddit, and it hasn't been as annoying as I'd expected in my main Mastodon feed.
I feel a bit weird stimulating that community myself, because I don't live there any more. It was really nice to keep up with what was going on! And some people do post on Lemmy...but not enough.
