Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:
Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.
Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.
Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

So TL;DR: Before anyone gets out their pitchforks, at the track in question they require some kind of additional license to run a vehicle there that can do sub 11 second runs (presumably a quarter mile, but the article did not specify). This bike can apparently just about push that threshold.
He could have had the same issue with a gasoline powered turbo 'Busa, or whatever. But it's still neat that Energica can do that.
Yep. Pretty standard at any sanctioned drag strip. My local strip requires a tethered kill switch be installed if your bike runs sub 11 seconds.
The same thing will happen with the Dodge Demon. It’s capable of running sub 10 second 1/4 miles from the factory. Sanctioned and insured drag strips will require a cage and better safety equipment if you are going those speeds. It’ll kick you out if you do it and ban you until you make the changes to be safe.
Yep this is a local Kiwi, Sam, and yes its quater mile.
