weirdness - Mod team members reordered randomly? (lemmynsfw.com)

just wondering if anyone else is seeing this, and possibly a bug related to the upgrade?

I just noticed that in the communities that I started, mod team memberships got reordered randomly and I no longer have the option to add/appoint new mods. Examples: [email protected] , [[email protected]

Update: hmm, even in this mod coordination, the membership is all changed, and @[email protected] is no longer top moderator...

More weirdness update Monday: at !DangleAndJingle, I just added @[email protected] as mod. But in the sidebar, s/he is listed out of order and not reflective of modlog transactions...

what?! first mod is always the top mod. there must be some bug or something. @[email protected] can you approve this? I can see this in modlog so I will transfer the community to the @[email protected] , but I just want to here from wankbank too.

This bug seems be randomly spread:

-- in [email protected] - See comments in post https://lemmynsfw.com/post/103279 - both of us mods lost the ability to appoint new mods.

-- On quick glance elsewhere at other communities I'm not involved with, I see the mods team order flipped at [email protected] , [email protected], impacting @[email protected]

~~That's because @[email protected] created some of the communities and some I did create. We are both mods over on reddit as well, so we split the communities we created initially~~

Nevermind (I should check before commenting xD). Indeed the order is flipped for [email protected]

I transfered the community back to you but it still in same order.

So even when you as an admin does "transfer" the community back to me, it doesn't fix anything since I'm still not top mod and I don't have top mod capabilities. Thanks for trying though

This is one crazy "bug"! And shows a real weakness in how the mod lists are maintained within Lemmy. Any idea what actually happened? Obviously the "bug" bypassed the database mod transaction logging. Does this possibly mean there are some holes open for future hacking vulnerabilities where maybe even admins can be possibly circumvented?

Perhaps the only way to really correct might be if the actual current top mod @[email protected] does the "transfer" back to me. Let's see if going that route will work, as I have about close to 10 communities that are impacted.

I've just tried the "transfer community" option, but after clicking yes nothing seems to change. The request goes out:

I think maybe only sort has changed. And you may couldn't see the buttons @[email protected] https://lemmynsfw.com/comment/186110

Edit: nope it really orders by user id.
