I tend to hold the controller with the grips resting at the base of my fingers where they meet my palms, rather than in my palms. Although the curves fit my palms nicely, holding it like that makes my thumbs overhang the thumbsticks such that I need to move them with my thumb joint rather than the thumb tip...if that all makes sense.
When I hold my portal like I hold a regular controller the screen faces me dead on, but when I hold it such that it fills out my palms then it tilts up slightly. That might be your issue I think.
I also tend to hold it up to my face with bent arms while I recline, rather than sitting upright with it in my lap and looking down. I find if I don't hold it up I get a kink in my neck. I haven't had the Portal very long (obviously) but this is also my experience with my steam deck.
Maybe when you recline you could place a pillow in your lap to lift your arms more to get a better angle while maintaining max comfort.
Wow, that actually helps a lot, thanks for the tips. Holding it like you described helps a lot. I can tell this is more like I hold my Steam Deck (a looser grip, especially with the thumbsticks being higher on the Deck).
