I have this hat (beanie type, I guess) that I've had for just about 20 years now. I've been wearing it regularly, and it still seems to be in good shape, but I know it won't last forever. I'm very attached to this hat, silly though it may sound.

I'd like to have a replica or two of it made. I don't have a pattern, but it's not all that complicated. Seems to be made of acrylic, although relatively high quality and comfortable. Not entirely certain. If I can find somebody in the Pacific Northwest to make it for me, I could bring the hat over.

Sorry if this type of request isn't what the community is for. I can provide pictures if anyone is interested.

I’ve no doubt one of the talented people here could replicate the hat but it’s worth mentioning that if the hat wasn’t originally knitted by hand, a replica won’t feel the same. Machine knitting produces a thinner, stretchier material. It’s probably more durable too - certainly nothing I’ve made would last 20+ years with frequent wear, but that might just be a reflection of my knitting skills! If it’s the feel of the hat you like more than the look of it, I’d recommend buying a new hat as someone else suggested. If it’s the look of hat you like so much I imagine someone will be able to make a replica but they’d likely need the original hat while making it for you. Good luck!
