Recently, a special boot for sappers developed by our enthusiastic engineers saved our sapper's leg. The soldier got away with a broken leg without losing his limb.

I imagine them walking around like a dog in shoes, hah. Much better than losing a leg though! Truly A marvelous technology and glad he's OK.

It probably feels like walking using snow shoes. Not as natural, but definitely better than losing a limb or dying.
