Google sucks at messaging. They had hangouts and it was fine, but they just were too busy shitting the bed to run with it.

Remember Allo? It was the only time I had a good experience with anything related to Google+messaging.

Yeah, the only reason people use messages is because it's basically baked into Android

Which sadly hasn't had a stable realase in over 2.5 years, isn't available for modern phone CPUs, and doesn't support RCS. The RCS and E2EE is the main reason I use Messages.
