Singapore's green energy strategy is apparently to import low/no carbon electricity from a range of neighbors.

Malaysia is conspicuous by its absence. In 2021, Malaysia controversially banned the export of renewable energy, even in transit. They later announced plans to lift this ban, but I am guessing Singapore doesn't feel like it can do business.

Seems to me, we just have to look at how water supplied by Malaysia is often used as a threat and bargaining chip, to advise how they will potentially treat clean energy agreements with Singapore.
