Lemmy.world can apparently handle up to a million users with the current configuration. I'm not sure what instance you're on, though.

I'm kind of new to the Fediverse, but since their username does not have a "@instance-name" it means he is on the same one as yours, right? Which would be "lemmy.world".

Is there some 'behind the scenes' magic at work that I've yet to decode?
