Thank you. This points to many examples of Hell in scripture.

I tend to lean towards Jewish teachings as Christianity, at it's heart, is a Jewish faith.

Which, Judaism, in turn was heavily influenced by an older religion

My point was that the "hell" in scripture is only very loosely connected to the modern concept of hell as a physical place where souls are sent for eternal punishment.
