Government solution to road deaths: decreasing speed limits (but not this year) . What's the point when there is not enough gardai to enforce them?

I'd say a lot of deaths are also caused by those idiots who refuse to drive anywhere past 1/2 of the speed limit and who refuse to pull over to let traffic past.

Resulting in people being increasingly frustrated and ending up performing dangerous overtaking to get past them. Also the amount of people who just pull out without looking is getting fucking ridiculous. Someone almost hits my car nearly every day.

Every day I see an increasing number of idiots who must have got their licenses from the back of a cereal box.

But of course, nothing is ever done about those drivers. It's always blamed on speeding and dangerous driving, which is far from the full picture.
