I also think it will last longer than that, but how could they smash the fuck out of the Russians without external support if they haven't even taken back the full country yet after more than a year of war?

Understand I suppose. I am not super involved in all events surrounding the war so for me I just see its been on for over a year, the West gave lots of support and while Ukraine was able to regain a lot of areas they are not done yet. And that was with support, so I am not sure how they could do even more than that with less support. But I might look at this wrong and I don't want to offend anyone with that question.
