United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

My Dad's favourite quote from his years of teaching was something a parent said about their teenage son "at that age, they're all balls and no brains".
Idk. How many teen boys has that tree survived until now? Maybe the kid has other issues going on, shitty parents, or who knows what.
If it's a climate protest, I approve.
It's a sycamore, they can be coppiced tf. They grow like weeds.
It's got the media's attention but spoiled a few tourist photos, big deal.
If people are outraged over one tree, they really don't have a grip of the situation.
Why would you cut a tree down in a climate protest?
We're destroying the environment, what's the difference? This has got more attention than throwing paint about and stopping workers from getting to work.
Plus, the tree will be fine. No harm, no foul.
I think many of them know that and are just career hooligans.
I actually wondered if it was the landowner fed up with the tiktok selfie set tramping the land, I bet the thousands of tourists feet have scared the land, doing more damage.
