That target on broadway is rough, but without addressing the need for people to steal in order to survive this is just some charade on the part of the corporations to make us feel bad for them while they take in billions of dollars in profits.
I don’t see a strong connection between the store closing and the store being responsible for people not being in poverty/crime. The city/state/fed gets taxes from the store and is expected to put that to use for us. Instead Oakland has a terrible corrupt police department and a city gov that can’t meet deadlines to file for funding.
I don’t feel bad for Target, I feel bad for Oakland. The people deserve better.
