I found this on Reddit which may help.
I know theyβve stated Steam Deck but the MacOS version also uses WINE to package up the game. So worth giving it a go.
I ended up reinstalling (2+ days to update the game, rural internet makes things interesting). Things appear to be working now.
I was unable to locate -/.xlcore/ I installed wine, I unhid files and folders on my ssd. I am trying uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. I found there is an alternative launcher for Mac, if it was not against the tos I would use that, because it actually works.
