The TARDIS is a police box, not a regular telephone box. Very few of them survive now.
That link claims it's about, "British and American Police Boxes"‽‽‽‽
Where does this mythical American Police Box exist? I've been to 49/50 states for months at a time, and I've never seen a TARDIS(Police Box), unless it was a TARDIS(whovian) in the US
Edit: upon reading the article, one needs a TARDIS to see an American Police Box.
